This is the same shape our own trip tracker uses: a day-by-day plan with a cost against every row and a budget summary underneath. Download it, fill it in by hand, and it works on its own — no account, no strings attached.
Prefer Google Sheets? Open the .xlsx file — File → Import, or just open it directly; Sheets reads .xlsx natively.
What's in the template
- Day — which day of the trip this row belongs to
- Date — the real date, once you have one
- Time — left blank until you know it
- What — the flight, stay or thing you're doing
- Where — the place or address
- Type — flight, stay, car hire, reservation or note
- Booked? — yes, no, or a dash for a note with nothing to book
- Cost — left blank on the template; fill in what you paid or plan to spend
- Currency — the currency you'll pay in, set to GBP to start
- Notes — anything else worth remembering
